Autumn in Marbella

Autumn in Marbella

As the temperatures here on the Costa del Sol are finally starting to lower and the sun's intensity is beginning to weaken, we are ready to welcome the autumn with open arms.

The summer of 2022 has been the hottest on record and we're still seeing afternoon temperatures reach up to 28ºC even now as we head towards the end of October! This is not to say we are not enjoying the sunshine, After all, this is what makes Marbella, and the Costa del Sol in general, a global hotspot for living, holidaying and second home owning. The warm temperatures are well received, and we all know how to enjoy them: days at the beach, lounging by the pool and outdoor dining of an evening. As Autumn arrives we would like to share with you some ideas on how to enjoy your time in Marbella once it is cool enough to venture further afield.

Golf

The Costa del Sol boasts a fantastic range of golf courses, and Autumn through to Spring make for the perfect playing conditions. Marbella's golf courses are ranked as some of the top in the area: La Zagaleta, Villa Padierna, Las Brisas, Los Naranjos, Marbella Club, La Quinta and Cabopino Golf are just some of the best courses in Marbella.

Shopping

Marbella is always a great base for a shopping spree, you're never far away from some retail therapy. From the luxury brands of Puerto Banus to the high street stores of La Cañada and the unique boutiques of Marbella old town there is something for everyone, and also something for every front of weather. If you are looking to venture to a new shopping experience, the recently opened MacArthur Glen outdoor shopping village at Plaza Mayor in Malaga offers both designer outlets and high street names as well as a whole variety of dining options and cinema.

Cycling or Hiking

Sometimes in the Summer, the thought of even moving can feel to much, and outdoor exercise feels like an impossibility. However, as Autumn approaches, the mornings and evenings become milder, and we can venture out once more! Marbella is a great location to enjoy by foot or bicycle, with the scenic promenade stretching along the coastline, and a relatively flat terrain.

If you are looking for a more challenging prospect, spin to the North and look no further than La Concha mountain. Hiking La Concha is a daunting prospect for the lesser experienced, but the views from the top make the blood, sweat and tears a worthwhile sacrifice!

Al-fresco Dining

As a pose to searching for shade in the Summer, in Autumn you can enjoy al fresco dining while you soak up the afternoon rays. Outdoor dining continues for most of the year here in Marbella.

Exploring the Area

Autumn is a great time of year to enjoy some more of what Andalucia has to offer. Within a two hour drive you have big cities like Malaga, Granada and Sevilla to explore. If you prefer a little less travel time, Ronda is a sight to be seen, and an afternoon wine tasting at one of the town's "bodegas" will have you feeling a million miles away. Other nearby towns you may like to visit include: Gibraltar, Benahavis and Mijas.

Spa

On the rare occasion of a rainy day, where better to relax and enjoy the sound of the rain drops falling, than one of the area's many incredible spas.
